As per the new interview with the media, Tomar asserted that the three new farm laws are beneficial for farmers and the government is ready to give a written assurance that the minimum support price (MSP)<\/a> and mandi system will continue.<\/p>\n

However, it’s not able to convince the protesting farmers who are firm on their decision to complete scrapping of farm laws, and the farmer’s agitation entered into day 25.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the DMK-led opposition in Tamil Nadu started a day-long hunger strike in support of farmers protesting against the three new farm laws passed by the central government.<\/p>\n

Thousands of farmers have been protesting in the National Capital for more than three weeks in spite of the chilling cold. Several protesting leaders have threatened to step up their agitation and have said they are prepared to celebrate Republic Day next year with their own tractor rally on Delhi borders.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe (Tomar) has made fictitious claims that farmers will not lose their land, which is contradicted by the Contract Act, 2020, which provides for farmers\u2019 land to be mortgaged under Section 9 and for recovery of dues from farmers under Section 14.7 as arrears of land revenue for advances taken from the company under Section 14.2 of the Act,\u201d the farmer’s committee said. The AIKSCC will issue an \u201copen reply\u201d to Tomar\u2019s letter on Saturday, with point-wise objections on other clauses of the newly-enacted farm laws.<\/p>\n
