It is commonly grown in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Being rich in protein and vitamins,\u00a0Toor\u00a0Dal\u00a0\u00a0is\u00a0one of the main ingredients\u00a0in\u00a0many food items like dal, sambar, etc.\u00a0As\u00a0Toor Dal\u00a0is also comes\u00a0under legume family,\u00a0it can store nitrogen in the soil.\u00a0\u00a0So,\u00a0it is\u00a0beneficial\u00a0to cultivate\u00a0this crop\u00a0as an intercrop.\u00a0Toor Dal\u00a0can be grown along with tapioca and groundnut. Can be grown in paddy fields and kitchen garden.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n                &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n        &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n                &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Toor Dal\u00a0cultivation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Toor Dal\u00a0cultivation requires light alkaline, deep and moist soil. Seeds should be sown in\u00a0the months\u00a0May-June.\u00a0It will be good if you soak the seeds in\u00a0Pseudomonas solution\u00a0for some time before sowing.\u00a0Manure can be applied as basal manure at the rate of 12KG per cent in well\u00a0ploughed\u00a0soil. Keep a distance of 3.5 meter\u00a0between\u00a0the\u00a0rows and 35\u00a0centimeter\u00a0between\u00a0the\u00a0plants.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n                &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n        &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n                &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<\/p>\n<p>At the time of cultivation,\u00a0173gm\u00a0of\u00a0urea and 1776gm\u00a0of\u00a0rock phosphate per cent can be added\u00a0in the soil.\u00a0\u00a0After 3-4 weeks\u00a0of planting, add\u00a0174gm of urea\u00a0in the soil.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The flowering season of\u00a0Toor Dal\u00a0is September.\u00a0Toor Dal\u00a0ripens within 110 days of planting.
