It\u00a0can also be produced synthetically.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n                &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n        &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n                &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<\/p>\n<p>India is the fourth largest natural rubber producing country of the world, next to Thailand and Indonesia,\u00a0and its share in global production is nearly\u00a09 per cent.\u00a0The major domestic markets of rubber are Kottayam, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kannur in Kerala.\u00a0Rubber area in India is highly concentrated\u00a0in this state, approximately 80% in Kerala. Therefore,\u00a0MCX\u00a0has\u00a0considered Kerala as the\u00a0benchmark market for its product.\u00a0Deliverable variety\u00a0specified by the MCX is RSS4 with\u00a0Basis center is Palakkad\u00a0in the state of Kerala.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The recommended rubber growing regions\u00a0should have locations around\u00a08 degree\u00a0North of Equator,\u00a010 degree\u00a0South of Equator, high temperature,\u00a0with\u00a0altitude\u00a0below\u00a0400\u00a0m and high humidity.\u00a0In\u00a0India the\u00a0Natural rubber (NR) processed into blocks\u00a0and this product\u00a0is marketed with BIS\u00a0specifications (IS4588 &#8211; 1986). Therefore, this rubber is termed as Indian Standard Natural Rubber (ISNR).\u00a0The rubber growing regions in India can be classified under two major zones, traditional and non-traditional, on the basis of\u00a0agro-climatic conditions.\u00a0The\u00a0hinterlands of southwest coast, mainly in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu and Kerala are included under the traditional zones.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n                &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n        &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n                &#13;<br \/>\n    &#13;<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Non-traditional zones include the\u00a0major areas where rubber is now being grown.\u00a0These are hinterlands of coastal Karnataka, Goa, Konkan Region of Maharashtra, hinterlands of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, the northeastern states, Andaman and Nicobar Islands etc.\u00a0Among non-traditional region\u00a0Tripura has become one of the most thrust areas for Rubber growing\u00a0in recent years\u00a0because of its well acceptance worldwide.\u00a0\u00a0Interestingly\u00a0Tripura\u00a0has been declared the &#8220;Second Rubber Capital of India&#8221; by the Rubber Board of late.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Imports have increased in last few years due to\u00a0a significant price\u00a0difference\u00a0between domestic and overseas markets, raising\u00a0concerns among growers.\u00a0So\u00a0in order to\u00a0safeguard\u00a0the interests of\u00a0domestic producers, imports of natural rubber of all varieties\/forms are limited to two sea ports of Chennai and Mumbai.\u00a0Given below\u00a0is\u00a0some important\u00a0information with respect to MCX Rubber futures contracts.\u00a0Rest of the contract details is\u00a0available in the exchange website under the Circular section.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>1.
